Betta Fish
Bettas are small fish with big personalities. Also called Siamese fighting fish, they come from the rice paddies, ponds and slow moving streams of Thailand and Cambodia, and people have kept them for their beauty for more than 150 years.
Those long flowing fins and bright colors come from generations of careful breeding. Males are best kept on their own, and they do well in a heated, filtered tank with room to explore. We will help you pick out a betta and everything it needs.

New to fishkeeping?
Setting up your first aquarium
Getting started is easier than you might think. Here is how we help new fish owners get off on the right fin.
01
Pick your tank
Think about where it will go and which fish you would like to keep. We will help you choose a size and setup that fits.
02
Set it up and let it cycle
Add your filter, heater, gravel and conditioned water, then give the tank time to build up healthy bacteria. This usually takes a few weeks.
03
Add fish slowly
Start with a few hardy fish and add more over time so your tank has a chance to keep up.
04
Keep it clean
Regular partial water changes, filter care and the right food keep your fish healthy and your water clear.
