Nowadays, it is also possible to qualify for a service dog for mental health reasons. A clinical diagnosis of conditions such as clinical depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or PTSD qualifies you for a service animal. However, a clinical diagnosis of the condition is often a prerequisite for obtaining a service animal. ### **Service Dogs Make Perfect Companions** Service dogs are wonderful companions and a great choice for many people. In these trying times, we could all use that. So if you’re struggling, and feel that a service animal could help you, see about adopting an animal as a service dog. Or, if you already own a dog, look into registering them as a service animal.
